This atlas covers gestational days 12, 14, 16, and 18, and shows whole sections stained with hematoxylin and eosin in 254 images, as well as 26 high magnification images of areas of developmental interest. Structures of these images are outlined in diagrams and fully annotated. The book includes a DVD with complete sets of images, labeled diagrams and diagrams superimposed on images. The e-book is available as the complete atlas or as single chapters.

Using the Virtual Knife slicing tool in the NetOStat brain atlas browser, a researcher can manipulate the view of this 3D anatomical data set over the Internet. NetOStat enables one to slice the EPMBA at arbitrary cutting angles on and off the standard coronal, sagittal, and horizontal cutting planes.
